Grid and DER software advances in recent years have pushed the functionalities of various DERM management platforms closer together. The need for an end-to-end DERMS platform is arising as DER adoption continues to increase and more renewable energy capacity comes online.

In this Leaderboard report, Guidehouse Insights has split its evaluation into two different categories, Grid DERMS and Grid-edge DERMS, “to account for the varying approaches to DERMS development and acknowledge the different use cases for each platform type”.

The report highlights that while there are vendors that specialize in either Grid DERMS or Grid-edge DERMS, Schneider is the only one with leadership in both categories.
