Hospital isolation panels provide isolated power to hospital operating rooms. A Line Isolation Monitor (LIM) continuously monitors the impedance to ground of each energized conductor, to predict the leakage current that would flow to the bonding system should a ground fault occur. This potential leakage current is displayed on the LIM. The LIM goes into alarm if the potential leakage current exceeds a pre-set threshold. With this information, hospital workers can then take appropriate measures to help ensure critical systems remain active.
